HAPPY XMAS HOLIDAYS!

HAPPY XMAS HOLIDAYS! - homeandhelp.com

There’s no a better fairy tale than Christmas. Sooner or later everyone starts to feel its gentle pace – already in November people start putting lights on their windows, stores and cafes play Christmas songs and decorate the surroundings, and step by step, by the middle of December the whole town breathes in the magic air.

It doesn’t even matter if it snows – Christmas is already in the air. Even in southern places, like Costa del Sol, people are waiting for this time of the year and celebrate it with the unique Mediterranean style and manner.

If you are already staying on Costa del Sol or planning to spend here your Christmas, here are the main things you need check out in to make your vacation unforgettable.

Malaga, the main city of Costa del Sol, is famous for its Christmas installations – lights, decorations, nativity scenes – belenes -, free concerts. It will be a marvelous experience especially for children, as the numerous stores are full of Christmas-themed toys, merry-go-rounds and other activities like caroling, storytelling or face painting. And if you want to do some shopping, the traditional Christmas market in el Paseo del Parque is just what you need.

Also, there are lots of markets in Marbella, like the one of Marbella Marina, which takes place every Sunday in December.

Another very exciting thing is the parade of Three Kings on 5 January. Each region has its own procession and each one is very carefully prepared and all are absolutely stunning.

And of course, Christmas time on Costa del Sol means Christmas food. Hundreds of different mantecados (butter cookies), pestiños (olive oil pastry), polvorones (almond cookies), specialty dinners in restaurants and bars. In Torremolinos, for example, there is a whole exhibition of candies and pastry baked by nuns of Malaga and suburbs.

Even though it doesn’t snow here, you and your family can still have fun on the numerous ice rinks setup in Estepona, Marbella, and admire the “snowing” decorations on El Corte Ingles building in Malaga.

Various puppet shows, markets, exhibitions, carol contests, fairs are held every day in Malaga, Mijas, Fuengirola, Marbella and Estepona. Even while being far away from the cold and real winter, you and your loved ones will get the unforgettable Christmas experience, with its special, Mediterranean magic.
